Longmont’s Erin Fosdick named among most influential business leaders

Erin Fosdick, executive director of Longmont Economic Development Partnership, was named as the region’s most influential business leader in the area of government and economic development in BizWest’s annual announcement.

Fosidick worked for the city of Longmont as a principal planner. She left Longmont to expand her regional knowledge and joined the town of Erie’s planning team before coming back to Longmont as the executive director of Longmont EDP in mid-April 2023.

In less than a year, Fosdick helped get approval for the CHIPs Zone in Longmont. This zone provides tax incentives for companies involved in semiconductor research, development and manufacturing that operate in economically distressed areas.
 
She also gained Longmont a position in the partnership that created a campaign to make Colorado the epicenter of the life sciences industry which was announced on Tuesday.
 
Fosick has also identified the shift in leadership and the way people work since the COVID-19 pandemic and has tried to support the collaborative efforts of local partners to grow the economic vitality of the area.
 
On Feb. 22, BizWest hosted its annual event highlighting the most influential business leaders of the region. Nominations are made by the public and readers of the publication are able to vote on the winners. Fosdick competed with Stacy Brown from the town of Windsor, John Gates from the city of Greeley and SeonAh Kendall from the city of Ft. Collins for the title.
 
“It was a bit of a surprise for me just because I am new in my role,” Fosdick said. She added that she believes that people see her passion for Longmont and the relationships she has built and that is why she won the award.

Fosdick hopes to continue to highlight the great things about Longmont and build on the community’s assets to continue to grow Longmont in a strategic way. 

“It’s a tremendous honor and I’m very appreciative,” Fosdick said.
