Erin Fosdick to Lead Longmont Economic Development Partnership

LONGMONT, CO (May 3, 2023) – The board of directors of Longmont Economic Development Partnership announced today that it has unanimously selected Erin Fosdick as the organization’s president and CEO. Fosdick recently held the position of principal planner for the Town of Erie and served 17 years on the City of Longmont’s planning team.

“I am thrilled to be back in Longmont,” Fosdick said. “Longmont EDP is known nationally for its progressive and innovative approach to economic development. Programs like Advance Longmont 2.0, its focus on building talent pipelines, fostering a collaborative business environment, and collective problem solving set the standard for Boulder and Weld Counties, Colorado, and the country.”

Advance Longmont 2.0 champions growth, prosperity, and inclusion as the pillars of a prosperous, vibrant, and resilient local economy. The Collective Impact strategy, a transformative approach unique in the nation, focuses on social change through equity, empowerment, and collaboration by bringing together public and private entities to collectively advance entrepreneurship, innovation, and growth opportunities.

Fosdick will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing leadership and vision in furthering the economic development strategies and initiatives of the community,
  • Implementing an aggressive business attraction program focused on key growth industries that value the locational assets of the City of Longmont,
  • Providing support for the existing business retention and expansion program that assists Longmont’s established primary industry base, and
  • Overseeing and continuing to implement Longmont EDP’s strategic plan for new growth and capital investment.

Fosdick has worked in local and regional planning for nearly 20 years. She is a recognized expert in public engagement and tactical and strategic leadership. Fosdick specializes in continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity, long-range planning, and community involvement. She earned her master’s in urban and regional planning from the University of Colorado Denver in 2007.
