Longmont, CO: The Longmont Economic Development Partnership (EDP) awarded Left Hand Yoga a $3,000 grant as part of the Advance Longmont Startup Grant to assist local startups that have been in business for less than two years.

Left Hand Yoga, located at 1811 Hover St, Suite H, in Longmont is a Vinyasa Style yoga studio offering a wide range of classes. Boulder County and Longmont have a strong concentration of businesses in the yoga industry adding amenities and activities that support active and thriving communities. With their new location, Left Hand Yoga has positioned themselves as a neighborhood studio in an area of the city that doesn’t have a one in walking distance of a large population of Longmont residents.

When asked how he will use the Advance Longmont Startup Grant funds, owner James Allison stated, “The Startup Grant will allow us to install mirrors and deal with the floor in the kitchen/break room and help us to pay the rent and payroll. Left Hand Yoga Studio opened on March 17th, 2018, on Hover Street in Northwest Longmont with a mission to build a yoga community in the neighborhood.”

The Advance Longmont Startup Grant is designed to support Longmont’s startup businesses in their launch efforts. Informed by the goals of both the Advance Longmont economic development strategy and Envision Longmont master plan, the Advance Longmont Startup Grant program provides funding to local startups that have been in business less than two years to assist with the cost of permitting and licensing, regulatory compliance, equipment purchases and other startup associated costs. This program reimburses eligible expenses, up to the preapproved grant amount, for projects that submit an application and meet all of the criteria of the grant program. Funded by the City of Longmont, the Advance Longmont Startup Grant awards up to $3,000 to startups that have launched or will launch in Longmont.
