Prior to joining the Economic Council Jessica Erickson was the Senior Industry Development Manager for the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade focusing on retention, expansion and recruitment of businesses specializing in Advanced Manufacturing, Infrastructure Engineering, Electronics, Financial Services, and Technology & Information.

Prior to joining OEDIT, Jessica served as the Manager of Business Retention & Expansion and Interim Director of Economic Development for the City of Thornton Office of Economic Development. There she focused on the retention and expansion of the city’s existing primary employer base and spearheaded redevelopment efforts in a 600-acre Urban Renewal Area. Prior to the City of Thornton, Jessica worked in the City & County of Broomfield as the President & CEO of the Broomfield Economic Development Corporation. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Council of Colorado since 2008 and currently serves on the Board of Colorado Lending Source.

Jessica received a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She is also a graduate of the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute and is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).


COO & Vice President 
Wendi Nafziger is a Certified Economic Developer (CED) that has worked in the development field for 35 plus years. Wendi graduated from Skyline High School in Longmont and participated in the Career Development Center’s Business Program throughout high school. She completed her basic economic development course in 1995. Wendi joined the Longmont Area Economic Council in 1982 as administrative assistant and was promoted to Vice President in 1995. She was the 2001 president of the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame, is a member and treasurer of the Longmont Twin Peaks Rotary, a former board member and Treasurer of Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley, a former board member and treasurer of the Economic Development Council of Colorado and a member of the International Economic Development Council.

In 1997 Wendi was recognized as Business Partner of the Year by the St. Vrain Valley School District, was given the 2001 Affiliate of the Year by the Longmont Association of Realtors, and was Citizen of the Year in 2005. In 2005 Wendi was presented with the "Women of Distinction Award" by the Girl Scouts; and in 2009 she received the "LeMoyne Monson 4 Way Test Award" from Twin Peaks Rotary. Most recently she was awarded "Economic Development Achievement Award" by the Economic Development Council of Colorado.


Small Business Economic Development Specialist

Ariel Wishkovsky has a diverse background working in business development in both the private and public sectors. Beginning his career in the food service industry with more than 10 years of experience, Ariel holds an A.A.S. in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University. After returning to studies, Ariel received a B.A. in Spanish Latin American Studies at the Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado finishing his course work at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba in Argentina for nearly three years. While doing business development for the City Manager’s Office in Durango, CO Ariel was able to finish his Master’s in Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Colorado, Denver. 
As a bilingual entrepreneur, his experience working in both government and private ventures extends to Latin America. His experience in the entrepreneurial world has also extended to Latin America working with colleagues and Startup organizations to support prosperous and cohesive business environments with interest ranging from high tech health care tools to augmented reality marketing tools and beverage production and packaging. Outside of his business life, he is a dedicated mountain enthusiast ranging from mountain biking to mountain climbing and just about everything in between.
